The METEOR project's goal is to revolutionize cargo screening with innovative and efficient technology capable of delivering fast, reliable, and economical container inspections, placing a strong emphasis on detecting various threats, particularly illicit drugs.

THE TECHNOLOGY

VAPOUR-BASED DETECTION TECHNOLOGY

METEOR enables intelligent threat analysis through a blend of innovative and efficient sampling technology, cutting-edge analytical instrumentation, and the most advanced processing techniques based on Non-Targeted Screening (NTS).

Vapor-based technologies depend on gathering a sample of air representative of the container's interior, followed by analyzing its chemical content.

The METEOR consortium is made up of 12 partners from 5 different countries.

SAFEGUARDING CITIZENS AND INFRASTRUCTURE

METEOR strives to enhance the efficiency of preventing trafficking and smuggling of illicit drugs compared to current methods, enabling customs agencies to inspect a greater number of containers.

Additionally, by detecting explosives and other genuine threats like chemical agents or biological weapons, METEOR seeks to contribute to increased border security, preventing attacks involving such illicit items and safeguarding citizens and infrastructure.
