The METEOR team recently headed to Brussels to participate in two high-level CERIS (Community for European Research and Innovation for Security) workshops. These sessions are vital for bridging the gap between innovative research and real-world security operations.

Collaborating on Global Security

Our partners actively contributed to discussions on the most pressing challenges in border management:

  • Combating the Trafficking of Goods (April 28): VITO presented our project's innovative methodologies for identifying illicit trade.

  • Innovation Against Illicit Drugs (May 5-6): A collaborative effort featured a presentation by BEC, with active participation from MION, GUCI, and VITO.

What is METEOR?

For those new to our journey, METEOR is working to transform the way the world screens cargo. Our goal is to develop a Rapid Cargo Screener that makes container inspections faster, more reliable, and more economical.

By using advanced vapor-based detection technology and AI-driven analysis, we are creating tools that can identify illicit drugs, explosives, and other chemical threats without slowing down the flow of global trade.

From Research to Impact

Attending these CERIS workshops allows us to align our technology with the operational needs of customs agencies and law enforcement. By working together, we ensure that METEOR's innovations provide a tangible shield for citizens and infrastructure.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to revolutionize cargo screening!
